Dallas CBT is excited to announce our new skills and support group for adults with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). This group will provide helpful education about how ADHD commonly impacts people, strategies and tools for managing symptoms, and a supportive space to connect with others who might have similar lived experiences.

Our adult ADHD group will begin on October 28, 2026 and meet Wednesdays from 6:00- 7:30 pm on Zoom. This six-session series will cover the following topics:

  • Attention, Focus, & Motivation (10/28)- Overcoming inertia to start, complete, and focus throughout tasks.
  • Emotion Regulation & Rejection Sensitivity (11/4) – Managing big emotions and dealing with feelings of rejection.
  • Executive Functioning & Getting Organized (11/11)- Creating ADHD-friendly organization systems and learning time management skills.
  • Relationships & Masking (11/18)- Understanding common interpersonal (e.g., dating, friendship, family, workplace) dynamics that can  impact people with ADHD.
  • Pride, Shame, & Self-Compassion (12/2)- Exploring impacts that ADHD and associated experiences can have on one’s sense-of-self through a neurodiversity-affirming lens.
  • Understanding & Managing Symptoms (12/9)- Reviewing evidence-based treatments (including medication, counseling, holistic approaches) and building your own ADHD support plan.

Who is this for?

This virtual group is for adults living in Texas who are wanting more support in managing symptoms related to attention, focus, motivation, executive functioning, and/or emotional regulation.

Current Dallas CBT clients and those who have previously completed an intake at Dallas CBT within the last 2 years can directly register for the group. For those who have never completed an intake at Dallas CBT or whose intake was more than 2 years ago, you would need to schedule an abbreviated intake appointment to ensure that this group is a good fit for your therapy goals and complete necessary paperwork.

What can you expect?

Group sessions will be held on Zoom and last around 90 minutes. Each group meeting will be led by two knowledgeable, trained clinicians (Dr. Marla Munro and Celine Horner, LPC-A) and will include:

  • An opening check-in
  • A review of psychoeducation content, with accompanying visual resources
  • An interactive exercise to build relevant skills and/or apply learning
  • A closing check-out, including goal-setting for the week

Is this group limited to people with a formal ADHD diagnosis?

You do not need a formal ADHD diagnosis to participate in this group. If you suspect you have ADHD and/or are having difficulties related to attention, focus, and motivation, you are welcome to join. However, as a note, the content will be targeted towards ADHD symptoms and experiences of people with ADHD.

What is the cost for participating in this group?

To participate in our Adult ADHD group on a drop-in basis, each 90-minute group session costs $125. You can join for any and all of the six sessions in this series.

Please keep in mind that you will need to have completed a regular or abbreviated Dallas CBT intake before you attend your first group session.

Limited sliding scale spaces are available based on financial need. You can email us for more information at appointments@dallascbt.com.
