Dr. Berkout enjoys treating anxiety and related difficulties. She approaches her practice from the Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) framework and aims to help her clients lead a vital and meaningful life. Dr. Berkout supports her clients in learning new ways of relating to difficult thoughts and feelings while treating themselves with kindness and compassion. Her approach to anxiety helps clients engage with areas of living that matter to them while integrating principles of exposure-based treatment.
Dr. Berkout obtained her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Mississippi. In addition to her passion for working with people struggling with anxiety and related difficulties, Dr. Berkout enjoys contributing to scholarship in psychology and training future clinicians in the ACT approach. She has published 17 peer-reviewed articles and given a number of presentations on various topics in psychology, including applications of the ACT framework to emotional difficulties.
