Dr. Martinez earned her doctoral degree in psychology from Ohio State University, where she completed the clinical child & adolescent psychology track. She completed her APA-accredited internship at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital at the Northwestern University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Martinez has provided assessment, psychological testing, and psychotherapy in inpatient, outpatient, partial hospitalization, home, school, and community-based settings since she began her training in 2005. Dr. Martinez worked as an independently licensed clinical psychologist in a private group practice in the state of Ohio prior to her family relocating to the Dallas area. She works with adults, adolescents and children providing individual, family, and group therapy. Her practice is predominantly cognitive behavioral in theory and her emphasis is on skills-building and collaborative goal setting. Dr. Martinez has a passion for working with patients of all ages who are struggling with OCD, social anxiety, panic disorder, specific phobias, generalized anxiety, trichotillomania (i.e., hair-pulling disorder), and other anxiety disorders. She follows research-based methods for treatment of these disorders, which often includes providing exposure therapy in the patient’s natural community and/or home environment. Dr. Martinez is supervised by Dr. Grant Holland as she completes her licensure process in Texas.
